Founder, President and “Creator” John Dilley of Defcon Sauces, LLC
April 1965 - September 2021
In 2004, John Dilley and his wife Maggie began an adventure into the world of spicy foods. John always had a passion for making spicy dishes and loved his wings. After many attempts to find the right wing sauce recipe, he landed on one which became a favorite of so many. When challenged by a friend, John and Maggie decided to enter into the spicy sauce world and immediately showed the spicy community that there was a new player in town. Over the next 16 years, John and Maggie continued their passion for bringing new flavors to many and his love of life. Having won over 70 international awards for their products they continued to bring new ideas and flavors to all those who enjoy the spicy foods.
In September of 2021, John (AKA “The Creator”) fought a hard and long fight against Covid. John was never one to give up on anything and gave it his all. John had a love of spicy foods and loved talking to people about spicy foods. When it came to the hot sauce industry, John had a passion not just for his own products, but for the industry itself. John would make the time to speak with newcomers and answer questions and provide whatever guidance he could provide. He was truly a wealth of information for many and a promoter of the industry as a whole.
Defcon Sauces, LLC will continue on the adventure and keep John’s legacy alive. John will always be present with us during our events and his love for life and all things spicy will continue on as well. We want to thank everyone who has been there to support Maggie and the Defcon Sauces family.
DEFCON Sauces Events
While John loved his Farmers Markets, we are expanding into other venues. Our 2023 season was a whirlwind of a year with some new shows along with out regular events. As we get started scheduling our 2024 Season we’ll keep updating our events page. Check out the “Events” tab for further details on the shows.
