I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you again for giving us the chance to get in on your Batch #2 Sauce, the package arrived today and it was in pefect condition- packed extremely well. I do have to say that every picture I have seen on both your site and on the HSB just does not give it the justice due. When put together in the box with the backing and the etched lid the whole ensemble just blows me away- hats off to you and the creativity involved, I know that this will be a huge focal point and a topic of many conversation while showing folks our collection. We will be contacting/ordering the rest of your product line very soon to put the whole look together and also will have my eyes peeled for a Batch #1- if you have any leads or contacts please drop me a line, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again....

I've already "downed" the two bottles of No. 2 I got last
week.  Great on fries. (that is the best wing sauce - simply awesome
flavor, but I'm going for No. 1 next go round for a little more heat.)

Keep up the good work!

- Lisa

Had a great time in New Mexico with you two. You are both a blast can't weight to get together again this year I will have a few jokes for you. I picked up Defcon 2 and got home and had my wife taste it she flipped. I'm wondering do you have this by the half gallon I think this summer I will be using a ton of this. Actually this weekend my brother in-law and are are doing some work around the house and afterwards it's beer and defon wing time.

Look forward to hearing from ya
Take care
- Mike

I just got back from the Fiery Foods Convention in Sandia.  I tried your sauces for the first time - you have a new FAN! I've spent the last 3 days kicking myself for not getting back to your booth to buy a couple of bottles of Defcon 2.  OMG it's great.  I'm placing an order as soon as I'm done with this e-mail.

Well, I must confess...this testimonial..it's been long over due. Myself, my wife and my two best wing-eatin, beer-drinkin, football-watchin friends had a helluva great DEFCON DAY at St. James Gate this past January...oh it was my birthday too and I marked the event on the calendar after first running across the inital website in December, 2005. I haven't had a wing taste this good in many years and I make a point to try them all, no matter where life brings me. Condition #2 is the one for me and my buddies...we made sure to take some home for the Superbowl...again watching the Steelers bring home another win. What did they eat before their last two games? I wonder. Great Sauce! And I do know my sauces. PERIOD.

- Craig

Hi, I just wanted to drop a line to tell you how fantastic your products are!! I bought two gift packs with the idea of saving one for collection, but you can probably guess how that turned out. I already had to dig into my second bottle of Defcon 3 - Oops! My personal favorite is a 50/50 mix of 3 and 2, with just a few splashes of Defcon 1. Thanks again, you'll be getting another order from me soon, no doubt!

We used both the Defense Condition #1 & #2 on wings and bbq shrimp

First up, Defense Condition #1 on the wings was awesome great flavor & heat

The wings were hot and had a great wing sauce taste with lip numbing heat that blew my mind. At first it didn’t seem that hot, but as early as my second wing section I was sucking the suds down in true beer drinking fashion. I would give it a 10 of 10 on heat and also a 10 of 10 on flavor. Very good stuff along with a Miami Dolphin win a very good day of football and wings. We used the Defense Condition #2 on shrimp on the grill. Like the #1, the #2 has a great wing sauce flavor. Aas a relief to some of our guests the 2 on the shrimp was just the right mix of heat & flavor that I would give a 8 of 10 on heat and a 10 of 10 on flavor. John these sauces are fantastic that had our friends asking where we got the wing sauce I told them from The Creator. Very good job

- Mick, Kato's

Okay. I have been looking forward to trying this one (admittedly, with a little bit of trepidation, given the name). After studying Organic Chemistry all day (about 7 hours) I was going to cook my wife a killer meal of mango/chipotle chicken, fried plantains, and Spanish rice. It is the rice that I like to use to try out sauces on, because it doesn't interfere much with the flavor.

Anyway, I knew this was an extract sauce, and I respect warning labels. At the same time, I knew that I had to put enough on to be able to taste the product. I put about a teaspoon on my first helping of rice. WOW!!! The heat hits you pretty much immediately. Then the flavor. It was subtle, so I had to have another helping to try to pin down the flavor. On this helping, I put about a half an oz. of this molten concoction.

After my first helping, I was used to the heat, so I was better able to describe the flavor. My first impression was that this is a wing sauce. It has that tomato/chile pepper taste. There is a hint of that flavor that extract adds to any extract sauce, but the creaminess the dairy product adds tends to smooth it out. Personally, I don't dislike the flavor of extract. It can be used to great effect, and it is here. I don't know why my first impression was wing sauce, but I calls them like I tastes them. I will use the remainder for just that purpose.

I like this sauce, and I think anyone who likes wings will too. A word of caution, though, this sauce is not for the faint of heart, pregnant women, small children, or those with a low threshold of pain tolerance. I bow to the DEFCON creator. I am still wiping the sweat off my brow.

What an experience.

- Josh

Hey Dude, Almost out of Number 3, due to the kids need to use what I have. NEED MORE!!!!

- Your DEFCON servant, Joe

It’s us, Ollie and Amber. This sauce is the sh*t. Keep making more, faster. Everyone that we turned on to it absolutely loves it, including bikers. I put some on a chicken cutlet and put it in salad and OMG it was banging!

- Looking for investors, give us a call.

Hey, Larry here from the other night at St. James Gate. Sauce was incredible. Had no ill effects at all (Larry stated he was extremely gluten intolerant). Amazing. I am ready to purchase, please hit me with the details.

- Thanks, Larry the lawyer

Hey gotta get some of the sauces you sell. John P. just returned from a trip to Mexico. He met you and had a chance to sample some of your sauces. Wow he sold me. Love hot sauces but he says yours are better then "(Someone's) Insanity Sauce". Please tell me how to order.

- Tom

Good afternoon. Hope you got home without incident. I was interested in ordering 1 bottle of each of your sauces (#1,2,3). I've got a pretty bad sinus infection, and figure your #1 would clear it right up. I've been spreading the word to all my heat seeking friends, hope you hear from them.
- Take care, John

Absolutely great! I didn't open any until this past weekend. My wife took me downstairs and pointed out the pantry full of hot sauces that I have already, she's told me to use up what I have BUT when I find new stuff out there I gotta get it. So I really like the 2 and 3. The #1 is way too hot. It needs to be cut in ketchup, mustard, A-1 sauces or BBQ sauce but has a great taste. Thanks again for being so responsive.

- Tom

I am long overdue in writing this email. I used the Number 3 and Number 1 at my Super bowl party. Almost everybody loved the milder sauce, still a little to hot for some (light weights). The hardcore hot sauce heads loved the hotter sauce. We went through over a hundred wings. My son Jason won't use anything but the Number 3 anymore. I guess I will need another bottle soon. Can you make me a larger size?

- Bill B., DC

I wanted to write to let you know, I have been searching for the worlds best wing sauce. I have to look no further. I received your sauces for a Christmas present, and by the next day, they were almost all gone. I even got one signed...I am going to already place another order for all 3.
Thank you so much for the great product and keep up the great work. I can't wait until Defcon 0 comes out!!! I will be first in line!!

Thanks,

- Mike

I'm a little behind on my sauce reviews and waited for two batches of wings before reviewing.
I did an egg and butter wash and breaded with a spiced flour mix before deep frying until crispy golden brown, then put in oven at 450 for 15 mins. Inserted wings in glass bowl and covered with DC #2 and coated wings, devoured shortly after.
I plan to try the plain wing fry(as seen step by step as DC sight) but man, the crunch with that sauce is wonderful!
That is what wing sauce is supposed to be like. Not a vinegar overpowerment taste like at any chain restaraunt that boasts the best buffalo wings, but a great flavor combo that makes you want more.
I give it a three on heat(could be more, but I used sparingly to get another batch out of it).
And a ten on wing sauce flavor, A well deserved scovie in my book.

- Marv

Just got some Defcon 2 in from that ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE store Sweat 'n Spice. (like the plug Nick?) OMG!!!! This stuff is incredible. I just might have to show my "O" face!!

Dear Creator, please don't ever post the fat grams of this little nectar of the gods. I don't want to feel guilty about consuming mass quantities of this stuff.

Oh,did I mention I liked it?

- Eman

Well, thanks to you I can no longer eat anything "chicken" without slathering your sauce on it! Great stuff John!! I am having my own version of Defcon Days at my house tonight. I will be cooking up 3 batches using your double deep fry method in my turkey cooker.

I must say... My wife has been a die hard "Franks" fan until Defcon invaded my home. Assimilation is complete. I made her a Defcon 3 chicken breast last night and I made myself a Defcon 2/1. I brushed the chicken breast with 2 and then brushed one about a dime sized amount of Defcon 1.... Perfectly heinous!

Thanks again John!

Keep up the great work!
-Dan

As a wing conissuer, I would like to say the Defcon sauces are the bomb. My buddy JT bought some as a birthday gift and I cooked some wings mixing 1 and 2 together. Let's just say the wings didn't last two minutes. I plan on ordering more for myself and my neighbor.

-Mike

Congratulations, you have made the ultimate wing sauce! I started out with Defcon2 and now I am adding about 5-10% Defcon1 for my perfect wings. Defcon1 is also great as an additive in creamy/buttery sauces. I would really love to see you make a sauce without butter and a little less salt for a more versatile everyday hot sauce though. That would be the ultimate!

-Doug

Add me to the list of people who, thanks to the DefCon2 sauce, cannot eat hot wings without wishing they were covered in DefCon2 sauce. (OK, I can, but I need to have had a lot of beer first to deaden my taste buds.) You have turned me into a hot wing snob. I was hooked from my first taste at the Fiery Foods Convention in Albuquerque. So, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, make more. If I had a cellar, I'd stock it with DefCon sauce. And don't tell anyone else about it. As to the bottle size - why make it smaller? As far as I'm concerned, you should sell it in gallon jugs - suitable for sale at Costco!

Sign me a true believer!
-Jane Randolph

Hope that I can/should have, responded to this email in such a fashion as a reply. I know that you just met me today, by my order directly from you (normally from sweatnspice) but to let you know that if you were to put DC#2 in a 16oz bottle, it would mean more pouring for me, and a better excuse to save one as a collector item, and use one, or two. heck, I might even buy four! I mean, come on, 16oz. of elixir from hades....not enough blue cheese and celery to put out that fire. Since I have not tried DC#1 yet, it doesn't matter if you go larger, I would probably by it, just to add a little to #2 to go crazy from the heat. I hear it is quite a jump from 2.

I will keep an eye out for the good news, and will post my order for
sure!!

-GRushlow

John and Maggie,

I received the Habby horse and bottles of 1, 2, and 3 and had the chance to try them all today.  The Habby Horse is amazing!  Good horseradish flavor (though not enough to make me cry), and the heavy habanero burn certainly lasts a long time.  Very nice!  As soon as I get a chance to cook up a steak, I think I'll be doing a glowing review of that on HSB for sure.

I also cooked up some boneless chicken with the 1, 2, and 3 tonight.  The wife loved the #3, and she doesn't usually like buffalo flavored stuff, so that's especially high praise.  I guess she just needed a Defcon indoctrination to move over to the dark side.  I like all of them a lot, especially the #1.  If the Zero wasn't so hard to come by, I think mixing a bottle of #1 and zero together would be just about the perfect wing sauce.

Anyhow, thanks for the shipment, I am loving all of it!

-John
